SMALL PROJECTS. REAL POSSIBILITIES.
Run a real SHA-256 comparison on four tiny sample files. One pair is identical; the two files named notes.txt are different.
What you getA duplicate group supported by identical file content, not a filename guess.
What you getA clear distinction between same-name files and actual duplicates.
What you getA record of the comparison. This read-only exercise never removes a file.

What it finds
Not a generic "junk" number. Reclaim names every category, sizes it, and tells you whether it's regenerable or real — here's the scan that found 173.5 GB.
review regenerable — pre-selected. review real files — only cleaned if you tick them. With Full Disk Access it also covers the Trash, Mail attachment copies and iPhone backups.
The undo
Most cleaners delete the moment you click. Reclaim moves things to a quarantine first, so a clean is a decision you can take back.
Nineteen checks run in parallel and stream results in as they land. Nothing is touched.
Regenerable junk is pre-selected. Real files — old installers, big videos — only if you tick them.
Cleaned items are moved, not deleted. Restore a whole clean or any single file, anytime.
Automatically after 30 days — or 7, 90, or never. Emptying early means typing “empty”.
Ask AI
Chat about your scan — “why is this so big?”, “is it safe to delete?” — or find files in plain English. The AI proposes where to look; the answer always comes from your disk.

cargo build, so clearing projects you're not working on right now is low-risk.
Tick the ones you don't need and press Clean — you can restore any of them from quarantine.
Everything else
Your whole disk grouped the way you think — Apps, Desktop, Music, Developer, iCloud — with “running low” warnings.
Drill into any folder, biggest first, until you find the 40 GB you forgot about.
Finds identical files across Downloads, Desktop, Documents, Pictures and Movies. Keeps one of each.
Unused AI models, old simulators, Homebrew and Docker leftovers — shown as commands to copy, never run for you.
What it won't do
Cleaners earn a bad name with fake urgency. Here's what Reclaim leaves out on purpose.
Try a read-only browser review of files you select. Compare sizes, find identical copies and export a report.

The corrected universal Mac candidate is notarized. Product, clean-install, minimum-OS and licensing checks remain. Older installer links have been withdrawn; no public Mac download is offered here.
A native iPhone/iPad storage optimizer is planned for authorized Photos/videos and selected Files. No iOS build or public download exists yet.
AFTER HOURS / Reclaim / Read-only browser companion
An exhibition folder contains working files, exports, backups, and two notes with the same name. Compare their actual content before making a decision.

Seven original demonstration files total about 6.3 MB. The review lists their names and sizes and finds two groups of identical content.

A PDF pair and an audio pair match despite their different filenames. Together, the extra copies account for 3,277,228 bytes; no files were deleted.

Searching Field-Notes isolates the working PDF and its final-copy counterpart while preserving the full review.

Two 67-byte notes.txt files have different contents and are not grouped as duplicates. The downloaded JSON report records the comparison results.
Actual read-only browser review of disposable fixtures. The downloaded report was parsed against all seven original names, sizes and available hashes. Every source hash remained unchanged. This is selected-file review, not a system scan or a claim of reclaimed disk space.
